So I've lost 80 lbs over the past year on semaglutide and I'm finally feeling confident enough to get back on the apps. But honestly?? It's WEIRD.
Like people who wouldn't have looked at me a year ago are suddenly interested. And I have all these complicated feelings about it. Am I supposed to be flattered?? Because mostly I just feel kind of angry??
Also my brain hasn't caught up to my body. I still feel like the "big girl" at the bar. Dating is already hard enough without a full identity crisis on top of it lol 😩

The brain-body disconnect is SO real. I lost 70 lbs and still instinctively suck in my stomach and try to take up less space. My therapist calls it "phantom fat" and apparently it's super common.

I feel you on the anger thing. Like WHERE WERE YOU when I was 230 lbs and still the same funny, smart, kind person?? The audacity of some people honestly.
But also... try not to let bitterness rob you of something good. Not everyone is that shallow. Some people just happened to come into your life at this time. 💛

44M here, lost 65 lbs. Started dating again after 15 years (divorce + weight loss = total life reset). It's a completely different world out there.
Biggest advice: be honest about your journey. The right person will think it's awesome, not weird. Anyone who's weird about it isn't your person.
