DEXA scan update relevant to protein intake:
Scanned at months 0, 6, and 12. Here are the body comp numbers:
| Baseline | Month 6 | Month 12 | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Total mass | 255 lbs | 230 lbs | 202 lbs |
| Fat mass | 105 lbs | 75 lbs | 52 lbs |
| Lean mass | 158 lbs | 154 lbs | 149 lbs |
| Body fat % | 40% | 34% | 21% |
Lean mass preserved — actually GAINED 1-2 lbs thanks to progressive overload + 1.5g/kg protein. The protein intake discussion needs to include body comp data, not just scale weight.
One thing that is still open after PeptideChemSF’s answer:
How people are hitting a protein target on a genuinely suppressed appetite, because volume is the binding constraint rather than willingness?

Coming at PeptideSynthNJ’s question from a different direction. Worth answering the question that was asked rather than the one behind it. The narrow version usually has an answer; the broad version usually does not, and answering the broad one is how a thread stops being useful.

Front-loading was the answer. Same total intake, same drug, but two thirds of the protein before midday and I am hitting the target most days now.

Agreed on the target, with the caveat that reference weight and current weight are different numbers. Using current weight at the start of a large loss produces a target that is both unachievable and unnecessary.
